# Funeral budget planner

Add up the parts of one funeral quote to see the true total before you compare providers.

Use the tool on the [web page](https://funeralcompare.fyi/tools/funeral-budget-planner). It works without JavaScript.

## How to use it

1. Enter director's own fee.
2. Enter coffin, casket or urn.
3. Enter ceremony, venue and transport.
4. Enter third-party payments (crematorium, cemetery, doctor).
5. Enter extras (flowers, catering, memorial).
6. Read the result.

## How it works

The tool adds the five boxes you fill in. Each box holds one block of the written fee list: the director's own fee, the coffin or urn, the ceremony with venue and transport, third-party payments, and extras.

The third-party share divides the fourth box by the total. When the total is 0 the share shows 0 instead of an error.

Figures use US dollars for display. Type the numbers from the provider's list in your own currency; the maths is the same.

> Planning figures only. This tool adds the numbers you type. It is not financial advice, and it knows no provider's real fees. Confirm every figure with the provider in writing.

## Questions

### Where do the numbers come from?

Type each figure from the provider's written fee list. Leave an item at 0 when it does not apply. The tool adds what you type and nothing else.

### How do I compare two providers?

Put the director's own charges in the first three boxes and third-party payments in the fourth. The result line shows each share, so you can see which part drives the total.

> **Not financial advice.** FuneralCompare lists funeral homes and cremation providers and the fee information they publish. It is not financial, legal or medical advice, and a listing is not a recommendation. Addresses, phone numbers and fee figures come from the sources named on each listing and were last checked on the date shown there; fees change, so confirm every figure with the provider before you decide.
