Fee-list checker

Answer four questions about one provider's fee list to see whether it tells you enough to compare.

How we calculated this

The checker reads your four answers in order. A list with every line itemised, third-party payments shown apart, exclusions named and terms shown counts as complete.

A list with no separate line per item cannot be compared, whatever else it shows. That answer alone decides the result.

A list that is itemised but hides third-party payments or stays silent on exclusions has gaps. A list that passes those tests but hides its terms still needs work.

Method checked on 2026-10-07.

This checker reads the answers you give about one fee list. It is not legal or financial advice. When in doubt, ask the provider for the missing lines in writing.

Questions

Does a good score mean a good provider?
No. It scores how complete the paper looks. A complete-looking list can still hide high figures, and a thin list can come from a good provider with a bad template. Always compare the actual figures.
What are my rights to a written list?
In the United States the provider must hand you an itemised General Price List to keep when you visit, and must give fee information by phone. In the United Kingdom funeral directors must publish a standardised fee list. Elsewhere, ask for an itemised list in writing.
